On the one side, the sample is composed of large, radial aggregates, which are vertically grooving and elongated and intergrowing antimony blades, grown with gold cubes of pyrite on them on the other side. This is a very old sample typical for the Romanian locality Baiut.

Description

Antimonite is also the most important antimony Sb ore and is often mined for large amounts of gold, silver, selenium or bismuth. The name comes from the Greek word anthémon-flower, according to the crystal form. It belongs to the orthorhombic-dipyramidal system. Its colour may be steel grey to lead with blue to green.
